YOLO!

Click here for more YOLO tour shots

Check out our latest photographs for ideas of all kinds of fun things to do, if (like us) you have gracefully accepted that you only live once and have many more things to cross off your list. These things should most definitely include taking a trip on a seaplane, watching Black Angus and Dangerous Dan dj, visiting Sorry Grandma in Melbourne, having a vodka shot containing gold, caviar and a live fish, dancing with your eyes closed to one of Black Angus' after hours set and pretending you're in Ibiza, drinking a whole bottle of Don Julio 1942......

You Only Live Once in Canberra

More photos of YOLO Canberra this way...

First date of the YOLO tour was Canberra, or 'meeting place' in aboriginal, our nation's capital. A place where square buildings with square gardens, clubs that don't get busy until 4am, and Australia's largest (literally- 6ft'7) DJ/Promoter Huw all 'meet' together. We met a few things down there too- like a few too many bad cocktails. By the time it was ready to go to the club it was 2am. By the time people decided it was time for their feet to 'meet' the dancefloor it was 4am- and by the time a few girls decided it was time for their fists to meet each other's heads it was 5.30 and then it was time to drop 'Duck Sauce' and soon after be greeted by a beautiful hinterland sunrise.
Oh... and a local screaming to another local, "I'm gunna kill you, you skinny bitch!!!"
En route to Newcastle, where hopefully there will be less punch ups but certainly plenty more 'Duck Sauce'.

Check out all the photos from the launch

Well, the CD is officially out and YOLO has caught the attention of every excitable party and music head around... as well as already stirring up some pretty damn good fun.

Thanks to everyone who came to our launch party and got completely lost dancing amongst a black sea of balloons; even if we couldn't see you we knew you were there...

The YOLO tour featuring Black Angus and Dangerous Dan starts in Canberra this Saturday. If you're anywhere in or around the ACT be sure to stop by Lot 33 after 8.00 PM. Check the Tour Dates for your nearest show...

Aeroplane Interview

You guys are considered these days as the remixers “du jour”. What makes you so damn good and how have you reached your current status?
We always made the same music. The only thing that has evolved is our technical skills. We always putted the melodies and arrangement first. That's all we can say...

You have worked for some amazing artists, who else is on the hit list?

Bertrand Burgalat, Soulwax, Sebastien Tellier, Au Revoir Simone, Sky Ferreira, Merry Clayton,..

Which artist have you most enjoyed/ been most excited about remixing for?

All of them !!! We just remixed Robbie Williams, it was quite exciting... Kind of a challenge...

Is there ever going to be an album of Aeroplane originals?
We're putting the final touch to it, It's gonna be released in 2010.

What's your ultimate goal for Aeroplane?
Reach the sky

What do you remember about your night at Sneaky Sundays?
25 crazy people around us behind the djbooth and 200 crazy people in front of us. And Dan jumping on the bar.

Lastly, how is You Only Live Once going to change your life?

Well, now that we know Dan is VERY dangerous...

JONNY POW!!

“Jonny, Jonny, Jonny!” Yeah the girls love our Jonny Pow!! … I mean, who doesn’t? Apart from being one sexy motherfucker, the kid is Sydney’s block rockin’, party startin’ king of funk fuelled house music. He is the man behind the hugely popular Rooftop Party in Sydney, he is the national tour DJ for Sneaky Sound System, he is one half of celebrated production outfit The Heat, and after 5 years on the wheels of steel at Sneaky Sundays, he is without question - Sneaky Sundays royalty – all hail Jonny Pow!!

When not honing, refining or mastering his skills in the recording studio, you’ll find Jonny ripping it up at one of his million residencies…places like One Love, Cargo, The Club, Ruby Rabbit, The Ivy or The Prince; or he’ll be warming up for people like Chromeo, Dimitri From Paris, Aeroplane, Kissy Sell-Out, Martin Solveig, James Murphy or Rub N’ Tug; or he’ll be fast asleep…recovering from the slew of hangovers that are all part of a hard days (or nights) work for our Jonny Pow!!

Ps. He’s also working on a brand new super secret project that’s coming our way soon, so keep your ear to the ground!
